Before the appointment
Confirm the appointment time, service type, parking or mobile setup, vaccination requirements and carrier instructions. Avoid feeding a large meal right before travel if your cat gets carsick.
Reduce stress
Leave the carrier out before the appointment, use familiar bedding and keep the trip quiet. Tell the groomer about medical issues, sensitive areas, past grooming experiences and known triggers.
After grooming
Give your cat a quiet place to decompress. If your cat had mat removal or a close trim, ask the groomer what skin changes to watch for and how soon the coat should be brushed again.
